US Midterm Elections: 11/06/2018

Below are some films to remind you why voting matters:

Chappaquiddick (2017)

Depicting Ted Kennedy’s involvement in the fatal 1969 car accident that claims the life of a young campaign strategist, Mary Jo Kopechne.

Teddie fled the scene of an accident, leaving a girl to suffocate in his car, yet somehow remained a United States Senator for decades. But there’s no media bias.

The Falcon and the Snowman (1985)

The true story of a disillusioned military contractor employee and his drug pusher childhood friend who became walk-in spies for the Soviet Union.

Here is a real story of Russian collusion with a cool David Bowie song to boot.

Team America: World Police (2004)

Popular Broadway actor Gary Johnston is recruited by the elite counter-terrorism organization Team America: World Police. As the world begins to crumble around him, he must battle with terrorists, celebrities and falling in love.

Sometimes when Team America stands down, shit like ISIS happens.

The Killing Fields (1984)

A journalist is trapped in Cambodia during tyrant Pol Pot’s bloody “Year Zero” cleansing campaign, which claimed the lives of two million “undesirable” civilians.

Democratic Socialist Pol Pot was the monster behind the death of 1.5 to 3 million Cambodian’s via mass killings, starvation, and poor medical care.

Lincoln (2012)

As the American Civil War continues to rage, America’s president struggles with continuing carnage on the battlefield as he fights with many inside his own cabinet on the decision to emancipate the slaves.

Assassinated Republican President Lincoln led the US through it’s Civil War, abolished slavery and began the Reconstruction of the Union. In just over four years.

Remember what former US President Obama said in 2009:

“Elections have consequences”
