“What Doesn’t Kill You, Simply Makes You Stranger!”
Filming on the Joker origin movie is well underway and downtown Newark has been transformed into Gotham City.
News 12 reports that Todd Phillips’ movie is altering the look of the facades on buildings in Newark’s Market Street to create a seedy 1980s Gotham City.
We also have new photos of Joaquin Phoenix in full clown makeup and parading around a sales sign.
Here’s the synopsis for the movie:
“Joker centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study but also a broader cautionary tale.”
Joker will be released in theaters on October 4, 2019.
