Maverick’s Back In The Danger Zone
Tom Cruise tweeted a photo of himself in a flight suit staring at a readied fighter jet, captioning it “Day 1.”
32 years after Top Gun premiered, it’s confirmed that production has begun on its long-awaited sequel, titled Top Gun: Maverick.

Top Gun: Maverick, has been in development hell for a while. Up until his death in 2012, Tony Scott was working with Cruise on developing a sequel.
Not much is known about the plot, but it’s been rumoured to involve drone combat and where actual fighter pilots stand in the face of the ever-increasing robotization of modern warfare.
Joseph Kosinski is directing with Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison producing. There has been no official word concerning the film’s cast, as almost everything is still under wraps.
Top Gun: Maverick will be released on July 12, 2019.
