So He’s Still Nursing His Balls?

Still a bit tender

The next James Bond film will carry on the story arc from when Daniel Craig’s Bond finished up after Casino Royale, according to director Cary Fukunaga.

Fukunaga said:

“In terms of what I can bring to change the character, Bond is on a character arc that started with Casino Royale, and I will be carrying that on. There will be changes, I am sure,”

“As in any story, a character has to change in order [to have] a narrative.”

Fukunaga wasn’t as forthcoming when it came to the movie plot or returning characters.

The Prada lads might not be returning.

He was giving nothing away when it came to discussing the fates of both Blofeld and Q, Christoph Waltz and Ben Whishaw, respectively:

“We haven’t finished the screenplay, so there is no way that anyone could know that,” he said. “Those are two extraordinary actors, so if there is space for them in the story, I would absolutely want them there. But I don’t know yet what it’s going to be.”

Fukunaga added that he was a big fan of the “vulnerability and humanity” Craig had added to Bond in Casino Royale, so it’s a fair bet that there’ll be a bit more of that in Bond 25.
