Which Usually Means The New Trailer Is Imminent

Lycra lad Tom Holland teased people last week that something from Spider-Man: Far From Home was coming today.

While most thought this would be a new trailer, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have instead dropped several new one-sheets from the upcoming sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Here’s the tweet:

Despite suffering a tragic death at the end of Infinity War, Peter Parker remains in the plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future. This July, in the sequel to Homecoming, Peter and his friends embark on a summer vacation that’s interrupted by Nick Fury.

Marvel’s Kevin Feige previously confirmed the sequel will take Parker out of New York for a European vacation that will reflect the global aftermath of Infinity War and Endgame. While abroad, he teams up with Mysterio to battle the Elementals.

Holland took to his Instagram account to share the new posters, which feature Spider-Man in various locations around Europe. The artwork depicts Spidey in London, Venice, and Berlin.

Here’s the post:

Joining Holland for the sequel is Zendaya and Marisa Tomei as MJ and Aunt May. Jake Gyllenhaal will play Mysterio while Michael Keaton is set to return as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture. New additions include comedian J.B. Smoove and Numan Acar (Aladdin) as Dimitri.

It was also reported that MCU veterans Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders have also signed on to join Holland’s Spider-Man sequel as Nick Fury and Maria Hill respectively.

The movie will hit theaters on July 5, 2019.
