Sony Pictures is taking its Spider-Man universe into a new direction in this #MeToo moment where Wonder Woman will be joined, and then no doubt over-saturated, with even more female superheroes. The studio is working on an animated Spider-Women film that will focus on three generations of women with Spidey powers. Bek Smith will write the script.
We’re led to believe that Peni Parker (yes really) can be played by any female, of any colour and of any size. Well, we at Film Goblin wager that is a lot of shit.
Amy Pascal and Avi Arad will produce, but it also sounds like Phil Lord and Chris Miller (sacked Solo dudes) will also have a say in this. Of course, there’s no release date yet, but we’ll update this with more information as it becomes available.
