In an interview promoting his next film Bloodshot, Vin Diesel has let it slip that The  Guardians Of The Galaxy will be in the next Thor film, Thor: Love and Thunder.

“The director talked to me about how Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy…which will be very interesting…maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”

Diesel seems to think it’s a secret because he must have been the only person who has not seen Avengers: Endgame even though he voices a character in it. For the rest of us, it’s really not that much of a surprise and this isn’t a Tom Holland level slip.

As you all probably remember, when Endgame ended, Thor left Earth with the Guardians of The Galaxy to join them on whatever wacky adventure came next. The natural assumption would be that they are featured together the next time one of them shows up in the MCU.

The only surprise is that we are getting another Thor film before Guardians of The Galaxy 3. But if Disney is gonna fire and rehire James Gunn then that’s what’s gonna happen. It’s gonna be a long time between Guardians 2 and 3, so putting them in the next Thor will help keep the fresh characters with filmgoers.

Recent Oscar winner Taika Waititi is returning to direct Love and Thunder after his previous directing effort in Thor: Ragnarok resulted in the franchise’s highest box office to date and transformed Thor into a more comedic series.

Marvel has decided to fully embrace being woke and pushing Natalie Portman’s and Tessa Thompson’s characters going forward, so it’s kind of questionable how much of Thor will actually be in Thor.

And after every Marvel character appeared together in Endgame, it kind of feels that the novelty of characters crossing over into different franchises has lost its novelty, doesn’t it?
