Not unlike the ripples in one’s water glass from approaching Saurian footsteps are the rumblings of the Universal hype-train… rumblings of a new trailer for their summer dino-disaster extravaganza, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Then just yesterday, Jurassic Park’s official Twitter feed dropped a new poster:

Epic or stupid? Jury’s still out.

Now, I’m pretty old-school when it comes to movie poster appreciation, so I’ll spare everyone the lecture on composition and the merits of painted/drawn artwork versus digital collage. The one-sheet is nothing we haven’t seen from the previous trailer. However, I do like the tagline: It’s punchy and evocative, like a tag should be.

Ah, Now, Eventually You Do Plan to Have a Trailer in Your, in Your Trailer Article, Right?

Okay, fine. Without further ado, here’s the final trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom:

Now, this is interesting. Looks like Universal’s marketing department has wisely chosen to show off more of the plot this time. Good thing, too… I was getting a little tired of the island-bound adventures.

Of course, anybody who’s made it through 1996’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park will feel vibes from that divisive entry in the series upon watching this. Hopefully, everyone involved in Fallen Kingdom’s production will have learned the right lessons from the last time an evil corporation tried to introduce dangerous prehistoric creatures to the mainland.

I’m not counting on that being the case, but I’ll probably check it out anyway. I can’t resist the lure of a good creature feature.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opens June 22, 2018.
