Is Adam Sandler taking his threat to make more bad movies to the next level?

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the critically hated Sandler has signed a new deal with Netflix to star in four more movies for them. This new deal comes after Sandler’s last four-picture deal with them ends and will be the third contract be has signed with Netflix.

If you remember, a few weeks ago he threatened Oscar voters that if he did not get a best actor nomination for his performance in Uncut Gems that he would make a film “again that is so bad on purpose just to make you all pay”.

He never got the nomination.

This could be him deciding to make good on that threat.

His previous deal with Netflix had some good results for the company.

Murder Mystery, a film that most people probably never heard of, was reported by Netflix to be their most popular title of the year. The Jennifer Aniston co-starring production was a bigger hit for them than even Stranger Things or The Irishman

One of the films in the deal will be an animated feature which he will write, produce and star in.

Sandler’s next film for Netflix is the already shot Hubie Halloween, which will begin streaming for them later this year.

In addition to Murder Mystery, he has also starred in films such as The Ridiculous Six and Sandy Wexler for the streaming giant.

According to Netflix’s numbers, subscribers have spent over 2 billion hours watching his films through them online.

That’s a lot of people who must hate themselves.
