Fresh from the folder marked “Shit We Didn’t Know We Needed In Our Lives Until Now” comes this news. That’s right, we Goblins are secure enough in our sexuality to bring you news about musical theatre, and do it with a straight face!

Where We’re Going We Don’t Need Roads

For years it was just a rumour.  However, it is now confirmed that a stage musical version of Back to The Future is officially happening.  And the gang is all here!

The original film’s director Robert Zemeckis, co-writer Bob Gale, and original composer Alan Silvestri have all teamed up with Grammy Award-winning producer/songwriter Glenn Ballard.  And things seem a lot further on than you might have thought.

Starting with a 12-week test run in Manchester at the Opera House in February next year, it will then bounce straight to the glittering West End of London to the very heart of theatre-land.

A North American premiere date has not been set.

Tony winner John Rando is directing.  Ballard will do the new songs, blended with Alan Silvestri’s score and some of the more popular songs from the movie like The Power Of Love and Johnny B Goode will also be included.

Olly Dobson will play Marty McFly with further casting to be revealed soon.

Musical tickets go on sale May 24th.
