The production house behind everything from Mission Impossible to the Star Trek Kelvin universe is on the move.

Currently at home with Paramount Pictures, the approaching end of this deal set off months of meetings, dinners and studio heads flattering their eyelashes at head honcho JJ Abrams. Many asked for Bad Robot’s hand in marriage but there can be only one fiancée, soon to be husband.

WarnerMedia appear to be the studio that’s about to put a ring on it and the details of the deal are being finalised right now. The terms and duration are still to be announced.  It will value Bad Robot at somewhere near the $500m mark.

This will give Abrams and team a clear run to develop WarnerMedia content across all channels and platforms.

Abrams is currently putting the finishing touches to Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker for Disney.  After this, he jumps to HBO for Lovecraft Country and Demimonde. Executive Producer gigs on Castle Rock and Westworld round out his dance card with three new shows for Apple in the pipeline too.  Busy boy!
