Brad Pitt To Reprise Role
That World War Z sequel is finally happening. The follow up to the 2013 zombie movie is due to start filming next summer, it has Brad Pitt returning to his role, and will see David Fincher directing.
Season 2 of Mindhunter is to wrap in December. Which means new episodes should be finished and ready to be released by Netflix next summer, which will allow Fincher to begin filming on World War Z.
Pitt is back to star as former UN worker Gerry Lane, and his schedule will be free once he finishes up work on Tarantino’s Charlie Manson movie, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Producers Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner confirmed the news to Variety while on the red carpet promoting their new film, Beautiful Boy.

The original movie, which was (very) loosely based on Max Brooks’ hit novel, suffered heavily from rewrites and re-shoots. It was finally released in 2013 and earned more than $540 million from the box-office worldwide. Watch the trailer below:
Filming doesn’t start until June of next year, so it’s likely the World War Z sequel will hit theaters around the middle of 2020.
