According to the rumour mill, British director S.J. Clarkson has entered talks to direct the next installment in the Star Trek series. If she gets the gig then she would be the first woman to helm a movie in the entire Star Trek franchise.
Paramount Pictures has confirmed that two new Star Trek efforts are in development. Does this mean there will be both a fourth installment of the current Chris Pine / Zachary Quinto series AND a standalone film from Quentin Tarantino?
Clarkson is in talks for a movie to be produced by J.J. Abrams. So it must be the J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay scripted 4th instalment. However the stars were all out of contract after Star Trek Beyond so new deals will be required for them to return.
Clarkson directed the Jessica Jones pilot on Netflix.
Her resume also boasts entire mini-series like Collateral and Love Nina. Clarkson has also worked on Life on Mars, Dexter, Bates Motel, Banshee, Vinyl, Orange Is the New Black, Heroes and The Defenders.
Star Trek: Discovery season two also entered production today. So it’s all go on Planet Trek!
