Hey, All You Bigots! Heads Up!

On this day of commercialized love, hearts, candies, and roses—lots and lots of roses—comes this news about the cultural celebration of love, just being love, on the set of the new Eternals film, coming to us in November from the MCU.

From the trades:

We’ve been hearing reports for a while now about Eternals featuring the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first openly gay superhero, and while it’s been said that Brian Tyree Henry’s Phastos will fill that void, there’s also been speculation that it might be Richard Madden’s Ikaris. …thanks to actor Haaz Sleiman, we now know that it is indeed Phastos….and while we don’t know the name of his character, we do know that he’ll be Phastos’ husband.

What with this film set being a lovely Broadway-level production, of course, there will be gay kissing.

By the way, Haaz Sleiman is:

“… a proud queer Muslim, a proud ‘total bottom,’ and proud to be banging Phastos in the MCU.”

He’s got a lot of pride on this day of love. Which is just love.

Kissing is One Way to Transmit Communicable Diseases

In case you’ve been living under a rock — and it looks like the folks at Marvel Films might want to pay closer attention to the issues with disease control their Chinese paymasters are struggling with recently — you would know that the Coronavirus is being passed around like hotcakes right now.

Kissing passes cooties.

Or, like bat soup.

From the trades, yet again:

[The shill entertainment media outlet journalist] asked if we can expect a gay kiss in the movie and he confirmed that will indeed be happening. “Oh yeah, absolutely, and it’s a beautiful, very moving kiss,” he says. “Everyone cried on set. For me it’s very important to show how loving and beautiful a queer family can be.”

“Brian Tyree Henry is such a tremendous actor and brought so much beauty into this part, and at one point I saw a child in his eyes, and I think it’s important for the world to be reminded that we in the queer community were all children at one point.”

“We forget that because we’re always depicted as sexual or rebellious. We forget to connect on the human part.”

He “saw a child in his eyes?”

Is he Michael Jackson?

Is the set of the Eternals film located on the site of the old Neverland Valley Ranch?

Someone page Kevin Feige.

The franchise is about to go down the toilet.

Which, if you’re reading closely, might be another place where the Coronavirus allegedly comes from.

What Are We To Make of All of This?

Haaz Sleiman is an activist, gay, Muslim and was hired by Marvel to portray a superhero.

Because he sees himself as an activist first and everything else second, you, the bigoted, unaware, “I don’t care about this” audience, is about to be made to care about who he “tops,” “bottoms,” or whatever, in his portrayal of a character who’s sexual preferences and orientation, ought to be secondary, will instead be primary.

He migrates from one project to another, reliably collecting awards and accolades from openly gay activist organizations, and annoying the sane people who just want to be entertained.

Now, he’s being enabled to take an activist position again, on purpose, in an environment that doesn’t need another gay hero, a Muslim hero, a “top” hero or a “bottom” hero.

The MCU just needs a hero.
