Director Danny Boyle’s BOND 25 is rumoured to be looking for a female antagonist to face Daniel Craig’s 007. Rumours have previously mentioned Angelina Jolie and Gillian Anderson as front-runners for the role as Boyle looks to consolidate his female lead.

Bond 25 producers want an A-list star to join the cast. Take everything with a pinch of salt, but according to the Daily Mail article, Harry Potter‘s Helena Bonham Carter is set to land the role of the movie’s main villain. The source also claims Boyle and the casting team are still in the wish-list stage.

A source told The Daily Mail, ”Everyone thinks Angelina is going to get the part but bosses want Helena more. At the moment they are just finalising the cast.”

The James Bond franchise is littered full of secondary villainous vixens like Irma Bunt, Xenia Onatopp, Elektra King, Miranda Frost and May Day, but Boyle is looking to break this mold and cast the a female as the primary villain. And one thing is certain, Bonham Carter does crazed megalomania very well.

According to the report, Craig himself is also taking on a more expansive creative role on this one, and has already met up with recently announced director Boyle to chat about the plot and where it’ll leave Bond at the end of his 007 tenure.
