In a move that surprised absolutely nobody in the entire world, Lionsgate has announced that Keanu Reeves will be back in John Wick: Chapter 4.
A release date is already set, too! May 21st, 2021.
The first movie was a breakout movie that garnered positive word of mouth longer it was on release. It’s opening gross was only $14.4 million but it kept delivering and did stellar business in the home market. The sequel pulled in $30.4 million to slightly weaker reviews.
The third last week hit $56.8 million and reviews were almost overwhelmingly positive. The much-discussed ending is similar to the second movie in that there is a definite thread for a sequel left hanging.
There is also the spin-off TV series on Starz – The Continental – in the works.
