In what I am sure is just his first step towards an eventual Oscar nomination, Metallica frontman James Hetfield has decided to become an actor and is all set to star in a movie.

I’m ready for my close up.

According to the Hollywood Reporter:

Joe Berlinger’s Ted Bundy thriller Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile is currently in production and has already gathered quite a notable cast of actors. As of today, the film has landed a new and noteworthy name: James Hetfield, making his film debut. The Grammy-winning Metallica frontman has played himself in movies and on television before, but this will be his first time tackling a dramatic role.

As stated above Mr. Hetfield has previously played himself in the Metallica documentary Some Kind Of Monster. In it, he played a rich and famous rocker who whines a lot. I have no doubt his range has expanded since then.

From Helter Skelter to The Silence of The Lambs to Son of Sam, serial killers stories have always made for interesting movies that feed the public’s sick fascination with death. I have enjoyed that fascination quite a bit myself, but will probably give this a pass.

One because I think am getting old and am growing tired of Hollywood glorifying scum and two because I was always a Megadeth fan personally.

Production on this movie began January 18th, 2018. No word on when this will be released.

STOP THE PRESSES!!!

We have an update on this groundbreaking film from none other than Metallica himself:

So It looks like my high school gym teacher is playing a cop and someone who looks nothing like Ted Bundy is playing Ted Bundy.

I am sure this is dogshit.
