The Paramount attempt to reboot the Clancyverse has picked up four new players to join John Clark on his elite special forces unit in the Without Remorse movie.

Without Remorse NAVY Seal team

Jacob Scipio will play Hatchet, Cam Gigandet will play Webb while actors Jack Kesy and Todd Lasance have not been given any cool code names yet.

As of press time, both Nomad and Bulldog were still available.

These operators will join Rowdy (Luke Mitchell) and Ritter (Jamie Bell) as they assist Clark (Michael B. Jordan) in hunting down and punishing the Baltimore drug lord who killed Clark’s girlfriend.

Excuse Me, I Have A Question…

Has anyone at Paramount thought any of this through?

You know you are the studio that is also trying to get the GI Joe property off the ground with the new Snake Eyes movie?

How are you going to reboot two military-action franchises at the same time that both have characters with cool code names like Hatchet and Roadblock without cannibalization?

This is like Paramount doing Transformers and Gobots at the same time!

The answer is simple: they have thought it through and GI Joe is going to be the dumbfuck cartoon version of military-action franchise while the Clancyverse will be the grounded, real-world version.

Paramount’s GI Joe reboot is going to make the Stephen Sommer’s powersuits version look like Full Metal Jacket by comparison and that’s a big disappointment.

Side note: that chase scene kind of reminds you of another guy in a black costume bouncing all around the frame while trying to stay on top of a moving vehicle, doesn’t it?

There are literally millions of fans out there willing to drop billions on the franchise as well as induct their children onto the GI Joe team, if only someone does a version of it that both parents and kids can enjoy.

Who gives a damn about John Clark and the Clancyverse? No one.

Why would they? Tom Clancy never gave the world anything like this:

You Know What This Is?

It’s a violation. It’s an assault. It’s…
