A Long Time Coming

It’s been talked about for years.  Now is a fourth Rush Hour movie about to finally make it to screen?

Stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker may think so.  They posted from a meet up on Chris Tuckers Instagram.

Three movies were made from 1998 to 2007 and between them, they grossed over $850m so there could be gold in them hills!

The mismatched buddy cop/fish out of water stories were straightforward but allowed Tucker to show off his comedy skills while Chan showcased his martial arts abilities and fight choreography.

Changing Times?

Do these movies still have a market?  Or will the central themes that often include the protagonists poking fun at each other’s racial stereotypes and milking cultural differences be classed as “Problematic” in these woke times?

One thing is for sure, Brett Ratner will not be returning as he continues to share Hollywood Purgatory with Bryan Singer and Harvey Weinstein, among others.

Rush Hour 4 would be unlikely to make theatres before late 2020 at the earliest.
