Now that Disney owns Fox they have access to a number of Fox production facilities across the world, including Fox Studios in Australia.  Marvel has already block-booked the new acquisition for two upcoming Phase 4 movies.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Thor: Love And Thunder are set, meaning not only does Chris Hemsworth not have far to commute, but also that Australia’s rather generous tax system will be helping them out.

Crikey!

NSW Minister for the Arts Don Harwin has confirmed today that Thor: Love and Thunder is set to receive over USD$16.7 million (AUD$24.1 million) of subsidies from the Australian federal government and the New South Wales state government.  This is offset against a predicted USD$124 million boost into the local economy from the production.

Strewth!

Thor: Ragnarok was also filmed in Australia, but at Warner Brothers Studios on the Gold Coast. Industrial Light & Magic, which was part of the Disney / Lucasfilm acquisition, is also setting up shop in Sydney with a new production facility.

Most Marvel productions before this were either shot in the UK or Georgia.  Black Widow and The Eternals are shooting in London right now.

Thor: Love and Thunder hits screens on November 5th, 2021.
