The release of Disney’s live-action remake of Mulan is coming soon and the studio has released some new promotional items to help sell the film to audiences.

When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential.

First, we get some new character posters that feature the stars of the film such as Yifei Liu, Jet Li, Jason Scott Lee, and Donnie Yen.

These posters don’t use a ton of photoshop, which is nice to see for once.

It’s somewhat surprising that Disney is allowing the characters to be featured holding such sharp weapons. They’re so quick to stop anything that is not 100% family-friendly or rated G, how did this get through marketing?

Next, we get a new 60 second commercial for the film. Nothing really new in it. Just a lot of pretty images. Good way to catch up with the film if you have not seen any of the trailers yet.

This film looks shockingly good so far. A lot better than the studio’s other live-action remakes and actually feels like making Mulan live-action is justified.

It certainly helps that there are no talking animals in this one.

Mulan hits theaters March 27.
