In March, Amazon Prime is going to drop a TV series based on the 2011 movie, Hanna.

In case you don’t remember Hanna, it told the story of a young teenage girl being pursued across Europe by a nefarious intelligence agency. The twist is that the young lady being chased was trained from birth to be a perfect assassin. Violence and death ensue.

David Farr, one of the original screenwriters from that film, is scripting and running the show. Besides the movie version of Hanna, Farr has a been involved in some pretty mediocre TV stuff like BBC’s weird Troy: Fall Of A City and The Night Manager

This time they are swapping out the sixteen-year-old, exotic-looking Saoirse Ronan for the more conventionally-beautiful Esme Creed-Miles, who is eighteen.

Look at those smiles, those expressions of joy!

What is more interesting to me is that this show is reuniting the two leads for the AMC hit The Killing, a show that I enjoyed with my platonic viewing partner a few years ago.

Joel Kinnaman — Mr. Heroin, as she called him — will play Hanna’s father and Mireille Enos  — The Sweater Lady — will play the intelligence operative chasing Hanna down.

He was Swedish, she was Mormon… draw your own conclusions.

Here is the teaser, which seems to introduce some kind of “super soldier” thread:
