Released in South Korea, as of July 2018, Believer is an adrenaline fueled action movie from director Lee Hae-yeong, where Detective Wan-ho (Cho Jin-woong) teams up with drug dealer Rak (Ryu Jun-yeol) in pursuit of the faceless drug lord Mr Lee.
Asian movie producers are renowned for their dedication to their craft, and this movie seems to be no exception. Even the trailer defines the word, “Intense”.
This is a remake of Johnnie To Kei-fung’s 2012 movie Drug War, but probably tailored more towards the Korean market. Well dressed men and women cross words and blows as the director weaves a path towards its unexpected ending.
Although this was a Korean exclusive release, I would recommend sourcing a copy to watch. It is an explosive action-thriller.
