“I Want To Do Good Mom, I Do”

Film Goblin has an extended trailer for James Gunn’s new movie Brightburn. Its premise asks, what if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister?

This trailer is an alternate, extended version of the second trailer and looks decent, it still holds my interest. Here it is:

In addition to the extended trailer, check out the poster below:

The official synopsis reads:

“What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.”

Gunn is attached in name only as a producer. His brothers Brian and Mark wrote the script, and neither of these guys have really done much previously (outside of a Bring It On sequel). David Yarovesky directs, and his only other major credit is a direct-to-streaming called The Hive (he also worked with Gunn on previous productions).

Brightburn, starring Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones, and Meredith Hagner, opens May 24, 2019.
