YouTube Red Strikes While It’s Still Hot

Doug Liman kicked ass directing Edge of Tomorrow, of course a lot of that film’s success can be shouldered on our favorite “NO Phonin’ & A-Gamin’” son-of-a-goddess Tom Cruise.

Regardless, Liman brought some unique ideas to the table and I though it worked.

So what about Impulse? It’s technically a sequel to Jumper. Remember that crap?

Jumper was the flop that was essentially the last chance for Hayden “the Sand Man” Christiansen to redeem himself as an action star and prove he was more than just a busted Star Wars version of Justin Timberlake. (Just in case you weren’t aware)

Well this isn’t Jumper, thank Crom.

So the equation is different. There’s a teenage girl involved and she has seizures. Teleportation inducing seizures if you want to get specific.

She looks like she’s a better performer than Hayden Christiansen though. And I don’t know much about the book series so maybe somebody in the comments can enlighten me, but I’ll give this a chance for two specific reasons:

A) Edge of Tomorrow was cool

B) Cobra Kai was REALLY cool, maybe YouTube Red put some real work into their project selection, so MAYBE it’s worth a watch? Maybe…?

There you have it. June 6th. I’ll review it. Maybe.
