A trailer for Gangs Of London, the new series from Gareth Evans, has been released and it is over two minutes of glorious action.

It was created for England’s Sky Atlantic in partnership with Cinemax.

When the head of a criminal organization is assassinated, the sudden power vacuum his death creates threatens the fragile peace between the intricate web of gangs operating on the streets of London. Now, the grieving, volatile and impulsive Sean Wallace tries to restore control and find those responsible for killing his father.

Evans is best known for directing the very well received action films The Raid and The Raid 2 and the series features his trademark intense style. The series is nine episodes and he is being credited with directing five of them.

At one point Edwards was rumored to be directed a Deathstroke movie for DC and Warner Brothers.

The series stars Joe Cole, Sope Dirisu, Lucian Msamati, Michelle Farley and Hollywood’s favorite go-to actor when they need an Irish guy, Colm Meaney.

This show looks great. Will they be able to keep up the intensity for nine episodes? That remains to be seen.

For some reason, this trailer was put up as an unlisted video on YouTube, but everyone needs to take a look at it.

Gangs of London is going to debut in the UK sometime this year on Sky Atlantic, and on Cinemax in the states sometime after.

No firm release date has been set.
