Pinkman’s Looking Scared. And He Should Be.

A teaser for the new Netflix movie, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, dropped last night in between the endlessly self-congratulatory Emmy Awards that we don’t cover here.

Partially because we don’t have enough writers, partially because you all aren’t screaming for updates on how Fleabag (really?) got “boned,” and partially because we genuinely don’t care about the masturbatory nature of awards shows in general.

Clap, monkeys. You got your awards. Now go away and ruin another original IP.

In the teaser, Pinkman looks scarred, with a voice-over of a news report coming over the radio.

Check it out here:

Contact the Albuquerque Police Department

Now THAT’S how you cut a trailer to make me want to see a film!

Anyway, it looks like Pinkman is scared (as well as scarred) and it also looks like he’s leveled up significantly in his approach to addressing stressful problems in the meth business.

Do I have your attention?

It also sounds like the police department interrogation scene that we saw in the initial trailer will come either sometime after this scene (or maybe before).

Who knows!

And that’s how you create excitement for a cultural entertainment product.

Smokin’ In An El Camino

Pinkman’s smoking.

Good for him. I like it when my antiheroes have vices.

Yep. Your motivation is to make this not suck for all the folks at FilmGoblin. Don’t fail.

The only way forward is to leave his past behind, Netflix promises us.

And they nailed that with this teaser.

No quips here at the end. Get in your El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie on October 11, 2019.
