I have to confess to a fondness for the Despicable Me movies, even though the latter two movies lack some of the charm of our first adventure with lovable super-villain Gru.
Predictably, Despicable Me spawned the Minions franchise, which opened with Minions in 2015. Being well received, and making over a billion dollars, it was naturally going to spawn a sequel and here it is.
Even Villains Have Growing Pains
Introduced at the end of the first Minions movie, we now see the young Gru trying to make his bones as a bona fide super-villain… by ripping off the existing super villains…
Shenanigans ensue.
Although obviously tailored to a younger audience, I suspect this movie will follow from its predecessors in being a movie even adults can enjoy, as long as they can cope with the gibberish spoken by the Minions.
