“How Do We Get Ahead Of Crazy If We Don’t Know How Crazy Thinks?”

Netflix has dropped a trailer for the second season of its FBI serial-killer profiler show Mindhunter which stars Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv as the bureau’s profiling team.

Here’s the trailer:

Executive producer David Fincher has previously said that the new season will be set in 1979-81 during the time of the Atlanta child murders, resulting in serial killer Wayne Williams being tried, convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for killing two adult males.

Williams was never tried for any of the child murders, 23 of which he was suspected of being involved with. Police continue to attribute a number of the child murders to Williams, although he has never been charged in any of those cases, and to this day, Williams maintains his innocence.

Other serial-killers to be featured this season include Charles Manson, David Berkowitz, aka the Son of Sam, as well as the BTK Killer. The chillingly calm and thoughtful Ed Kemper, the killer from the first season, also returns.

Mindhunter Season 2 premieres Friday, August 16 on Netflix.
