Let Me Explain
This is a Transformers movie.
In the trilogy called War For Cybertron.
It’s the first movie in that trilogy — and it’s called Siege.
A lot of big deals are going down:
In the midst of ongoing war on Cybertron, forces of good and evil clash as they search for the source of their power: the Allspark. This may not be the life they imagined, but it’s a life worth fighting for.
“The life they imagined?” Do sentient robots imagine a life beyond this awful cave never-ending battle against other, evil sentient robots?
Since “Siege” is a new line of Transformers toys from Hasbro I’m going to assume this movie something targeted specifically at kids, and probably very young kids.
Let’s see together:
OK, now I understand “The life they imagined?” quote: the girl Autobot wanted to just stay home and have a brood of little Autobot babies with ya boi Optimus.
Wholesome!
As far as being for kids, well there is no subversion, no brutal ultra-violence, no “We’re The Real Enemy” storyline, no current year politics, no class warfare, no nasty feminism, no intense bouts of crying.
In other words, it’s nothing like Star Trek: Picard.
Maybe shows for kids are the future of our genre entertainment?
Transformers: War For Cybertron — Siege is coming soon only to Netflix.
