Oldfellas!

Netflix has finally let loose the trailer for Martin Scorsese’s new gangster flick, The Irishman.

The legendary director is teaming again with former colleagues, and close friends, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci.

The Irishman is a crime drama exploring New York City’s criminal underworld in post-War America and features Pacino as Jimmy Hoffa, De Niro as The Irishman —hitman Frank Sheeran — and Pesci as mafia don Russell Bufalino.

Last month, we did some research and found the real people behind the movie.

Here’s the trailer:

The official Netflix synopsis:

“Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa, and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organised crime: its inner workings, rivalries, and connections to mainstream politics.”

As standard for a Scorsese movie, this too features a stellar supporting cast including Emmy-winning actor Bobby Cannavale, Jesse Plemons, Oscar-winner Anna Paquin, and comedian Ray Romano.

Very excited about this. De Niro and Pacino are looking great, the de-aging technology being used these days continues to raise the bar. Pesci is looking just as fierce as he did from two decades ago. I’ll be there for it opening, no question.

The Irishman is set to be released this fall in selected cinemas and Netflix.
