Co-Director Of The Blair Witch Project Back With Alien Abduction Story

Two decades back, Daniel Myrick co-directed The Blair Witch Project. It was one of the biggest indie film successes in movie history and has become a permanent fixture within pop culture.

Now he’s back with another fake documentary, but instead of a wicker-making witch in the woods, he’s now turned his attention to a faux documentary movie about UFO abductions.

Here’s the synopsis:

Skyman documents the story of Carl Merryweather who believes he experienced an alien encounter at 10-years-old and is now trying to reconnect with the UFO at the same location.”

Back in the day, I used to lap these movies up. Anything remotely X-Filesy, I was instantly down to see it. But I can’t actually recall the last alien abduction movie I sat down to watch. The trailer feels completely average and I’ll probably avoid it when the movie is released.

Here’s the trailer:

Is it just me, or does this look tediously lame?

Directed by Myrick, Skyman also stars Lee Broda (Putting On), Willow Hale (Agents Of SHIELD), Patricia Lentz (Weeds, E.R.).

The movie hits theaters sometime this year.
