“Power Comes At A Price”

The BBC have been tight-assed about information regarding season five of Peaky Blinders but finally, the new trailer has dropped via their official Twitter account, and I’m fairly stoked.

The season 4 finale dealt some twist and turns, mainly Alfie Soloman’s (Tom Hardy) fate still unconfirmed and Tommy gaining more power by becoming the elected MP for Birmingham South constituents.

The official synopsis reads:

“Series five of Steven Knight’s crime family saga finds the world thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929. Opportunity and misfortune are everywhere. When Tommy Shelby MP is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family’s future but that of the entire nation.”

Sadly, I don’t remain hopeful that Alfie’s gunshot wound wasn’t fatal. But we will see the Shelbys battle an anti-Catholic Glasgow razor-gang based on the Billy Boys led by the bastard Billy Fullerton, sheer scum, so that should be tasty.

Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Kate Phillips, Natasha O’Keeffe, along with Aidan Gillen and Jack Rowan all return. Including new faces Anya Taylor-Joy and Sam Claflin as Tommy’s new enemy, fascist Oswald Mosley.

Peaky Blinders is “coming soon” to BBC1.
