Hmmm… Emmerich Does the Battle of Midway?
Okay-y-y-y.
Flying Leathernecks, Flying Tigers, The Blue Max and Battle of Britain were some of my favorite war movies as a kid. John Wayne shooting splashing Japs or Robert Shaw taking out Jerries was the ultimate Saturday for me, but alas, even I could tell it was either stock footage, models, or worse.
But there’s hope in the form of Roland Emmerich’s Midway.
Emmerich(Independence Day, The Patriot) can do epic, he can do war, but he can also serve up Godzilla and 10,000 BC and this is what troubles me about Midway.
What excites me about Midway is what Emmerich will likely bring to the action scenes.
