Shooting Begins In Just A Few Weeks
Show creator Vince Gilligan has been working a new Breaking Bad movie, but it’s not clear if the highly-acclaimed, award-winning hit show from AMC will be reanimated as a full-length theatrical release or made-for-TV.
Gilligan is beginning work on the project this month, with filming taking place in Albuquerque, New Mexico where the original series was shot.
It’s unclear if any of the original stars, such as Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul, are involved in the new project, which is confirmed to be set in the existing Breaking Bad franchise.
It is also unclear if the movie’s plot will pick up right where the series ended up in 2013 or whether the story will be a prequel similar to AMC’s recent Better Call Saul series.
The Albuquerque Journal includes a logline stating the film:
“Tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.”
This synopsis suggests that the movie might pick-up directly after the events of the series finale, which saw Jesse finally breaking free from his captors and driving off into the Albuquerque desert.
The Journal also reports the title as Greenbriar, though it’s doubtful that this will be the final title. Production in the Duke City is scheduled to begin mid-November through early February, according to the Journal.
There was never any confirmation that Walter White died. The police surrounded him and, more than likely, immediately called the paramedics. I’m convinced Walt didn’t die, but as far as storylines go for Breaking Bad, Walt is dead as a dodo.
