This is How it Always Starts…

What do you get when you combine National Geographic and the guy who ran away from dinosaurs for most of the Jurassic Park film series?

Looking for my next role…

Well, you get a streaming show on Disney+ that looks like the fever dream of Anthony Bourdain (No Reservations) and every other reality show you’ve ever seen with a celebrity trying to appear “normal.”

Jeff claims in the trailer for the documentary series, that he’s, “interested in everything,” but I don’t think that’s strictly true…

Check out the teaser trailer below:

…First, There’s “Ooh-ing” and “Aaah-ing”…

On the one hand, I enjoy Jeff Goldblum’s acting tremendously.

His body of acting work from The Fly all the way through to Thor: Ragnarok over the last thirty years has revealed a guy who has an active mind, and who can read a script for the story, versus just what being in the movie will do for his “brand.”

On the other hand, celebrities are just that: celebrities. So, I anticipate that a lot of this show will feature him mugging at the camera without anything really of merit, or interest, happening to him or anybody else.

Then There’s Running… and… There’s Screaming…

The fact that this series is streaming as part of a partnership between the Mouse House and NatGeo is interesting.

…heh…heh…sign on the dotted line you suckers…

This may be the beginning tendrils of Disney moving its focus away from original IP on the Disney Channel exclusively on cable outlets and toward the streaming service, Disney +.

Or, it could just be a happy accident.

The World According to Jeff Goldblum, starring the one and only Jeff Goldblum, is set to stream directly to your eyes and ears on November 12th!
