Finally, the announcement the entire world was waiting for.

Turner and Hooch is being turned into a series.

Based on the 1989 film starring Tom Hanks, which was about a cop who tries to solve a murder with the help of a dog, it’s not considered a high point of Hanks’ career.

It’s memorable because of its concept and made before Hanks became a “respected actor,” so probably something he’d rather not be reminded of.

Surprisingly enough, this is not the first attempt to turn the film into a series. ABC tried to in the very early 90s, but it never got past the pilot.

It’s too early to talk about casting, but the series will be run by Matt Max, who created the successful USA Network series Burn Notice.

Probably safe to assume that each episode will revolve around a crime that the duo will need to work together to solve, though because it’s Disney+ it won’t get too grizzly.

Unfortunately the dog that played Hooch is now is doggie heaven and unable to return to the role.

No word on when it will grace the screens of Disney+.
