Games > Movies?

A couple of months ago Disney and Lucasfilm shared a cinematic trailer for their upcoming game.  You can see that here.

Frustratingly, Star Wars: Jedi – Fallen Order already looks better than almost everything Lucasfilm have served up on-screen for over 20 years.  Still, maybe it needs more posh, plummy, stage-school British chicks?

Now Electronic Arts and the company behind Titanfall and Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment, are sharing some actual gameplay footage.

It is nearly 15 minutes long and reports say it comes from around the three-hour mark of the single-player campaign.  It is set on the Wookie home planet of Kashyyyk and features a cameo from Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera from Rogue One.   There are no multiplayer options, no microtransactions, and no loot boxes.  Holy hell!  Are we actually returning to proper, old skool gaming?  It’s made in Unreal Engine 4.

What Is?

Gotham and Shameless star Cameron Monaghan play Cal Kestis.  According to the publicity, he is a padawan who survived after Order 66 given at the end of Revenge Of The Sith.  Cal is hiding from the Empire in plain sight but is forced to go on the run when he accidentally exposes his Force powers.

Cal and his droid, BD-1, end up being hunted by the Second Sister, one of the Empire’s Inquisitors.  She is backed up by Purge Troopers, specially trained Jedi hunting shock troops.

God of War 3 director Stig Asmussen is behind this as well.  It will go on sale on November 15th.

Here, have a look at footage of the game I will never get the time to play properly.  Fuck adulting.

And now I am sad.
