First Look At Reboot Of Disney’s 1994 Classic

Ironman director Jon Favreau is using a similar style for Disney’s CG and live-action adaptation of The Lion King, which he used already bringing The Jungle Book to life:

The film will see James Earl Jones reprise his role as Mufasa. Other cast members include Beyonce as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon and Keegan-Michael Key as a hyena.

The Lion King was a global hit in 1994, made a tidy £745 million at the box office and was then adapted into a Broadway musical.

The film will include the songs from the original, written by Elton John, Tim Rice and Hans Zimmer, including the Oscar-winning:

The Lion King is scheduled for a July 19, 2019 release.
