The Boys is a series of novels created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. In it, superheroes are worldwide celebrities who enjoy the adulation of such stature.
In reality, they are sex addicted, drug-enhanced deviants who govern themselves and are above the law.
Woah… that sounds like actual celebrities!
So… Who Watches The Watchmen? Enter The Boys.
The Boys are a team of hardcore CIA-sponsored mercenaries whose job it is to keep tabs on the “Supes”. They have their own way of keeping an upper hand when the Supes mess up.
However, the mess they tend to create usually leaves casualties and can bring countries to stand-offs with one another.
Amazon has knocked out a trailer for its adaptation of the Seth Rogen produced comic book series. Here it is:

The official synopsis:
“in a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame and revolves around a group of vigilantes known informally as The Boys who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.”
The Boys stars Karl Urban and Jack Quaid in the lead roles of leader Billy Butcher and new recruit Hughie Campbell.
Also featuring are Jennifer Esposito (The Affair), Elisabeth Shue (The Karate Kid), Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad) Anthony Starr (Banshee), Dominique McElligott (Hell On Wheels), Jesse Usher (Independence Day: Resurgence), Chance Crawford (Gossip Girl), Laz Alonso (Fast & Furious), Tomer Kapon, Nathan Mitchell, and Erin Moriarty (Jessica Jones).
The Boys starts streaming on Amazon Prime in Summer 2019.
