Doll Now Identifies As Buddi

A new trailer for the re-imagining of classic horror flick Child’s Play has dropped, featuring a technological reboot of the Chucky doll… now called Buddi!

The toy doll is a hi-tech model in the new version. In the trailer, it scans the face of his new owner, and also reveals that he was created by Kaslan Corporation tech company.

Kaslan was the movie’s promotion website that popped up last year.

Chucky’s iconic blue dungarees and stripy jumper are still in play, and Buddi seems to possess the same thirst for blood as its predecessor.

Here’s the trailer:

Overall, the trailer holds up. I’m not sold on the idea that Chucky is a robot rather than a doll possessed by a serial killer, but as I say, it doesn’t look that terrible.

Aubrey Plaza (Parks  And Recreation) will play mum Karen Barclay in the new movie, while Gabriel Bateman will appear as her son – and the unlucky recipient of Buddi – Andy.

Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) will also star in the film as Detective Mike Norris.

Child’s Play is due for release on June 21, 2019 in the US. No UK release date has been confirmed at present.
