Have You Felt It Too?

Zack Snyder has indicated that his next project will be an adaptation of The Fountainhead.

Despite reports that The Last Photograph would be his follow-up to Justice League, it seems that Snyder will officially return with an adaption of Ayn Rand’s best-selling novel. Snyder initially teased his adaptation of Rand’s breakthrough novel back in 2016, telling The Hollywood Reporter that he’d been working with the script.

The Fountainhead, Rand’s first novel, was made into a 1949 movie starring Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal directed by King Vidor. Rand also wrote the screenplay.

“It’s difficult to find a movie that feels true to itself. You feel the hand of Hollywood, the moviemaking by committee, on everything.” Zack Snyder.

Snyder and his Cruel & Unusual Films have a deal on the Warner Bros lot where he has made all of his feature films since his debut, 2004’s Dawn of the Dead at Universal. It’s possible that this could be made outside Warners, however. Corporate sibling HBO for example was in talks with Snyder a few years ago about a TV version of Watchmen, based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, which he adapted into a 2009 film. Those talks ended, however, and now Damon Lindelof is developing the project.

According to Deadline, Snyder announced that the adaptation will be his next project in response to a fan’s question on the social media site Vero.

Here it is –

Snyder’s last directorial effort was 2017’s Justice League. Snyder, who remains the film’s credited director, stepped aside during production following a personal tragedy, and Joss Whedon finished the film.
