Easy Skanking With Son Ziggy

Paramount Pictures and Ziggy Marley are teaming up to develop a biopic based on Ziggy’s father, the iconic reggae musician, Bob Marley.

Deadline reports that the two parties are working together for the film, which will look at the life and music of the Rasta elder Marley. Marley’s influence on popular music can’t be overstated. He is one of the most prolific artists in modern music history and is credited for making reggae mainstream.

He’s best known for creating classics like “Coming In From The Cold,” “Jamming,” “Redemption Song,” “Buffalo Soldier,” and hundreds more. Interestingly, all his songs were produced over a twenty-year career before he lost his battle to cancer at the young age of 36.

The legendary Jamaican singer-songwriter, who died in 1981, had a white father and because of that he found himself discriminated against in his country.

Although he achieved fame and fortune and the accolades that accompany that, Marley never forgot his roots and where he was from. He remained humble until the end of his life, his music and words will never be forgotten.
