I Remember When I Got “Red-Pilled” the First Time

Someone needs to stop these actors, actresses, and others from speaking words they write.

Mostly for the following reasons:

  • They are intellectually dishonest.
  • They are woefully ignorant of the facts.
  • They are pretty much politically Progressive and thus reflexively leftist in their bent.
  • They really don’t know how to string together something that makes sense.
The guy on the left spent years in thankless public service in to the people of Arizona. The fellow on the right has spent years making fun of guys like this.

Case in point:

…at the Anti-Defamation League’s Never Is Now Summit on Anti-Semitism and Hate, Baron Cohen took off his comedy hat when honored with the ADL’s International Leadership Award. He used the platform to deliver a keynote outlining how social media and the information it disseminates have fueled the bigotry dominating the current political moment in the U.S.

Yeah, I’m not going to embed the video here from an actor turned keynote speech deliverer who sees Russians and the Bad Orange Man under his bed every night probably.

 “I’m Just a Comedian. Not a Scholar.”

Then why are we listening to you!

Why do you numb nuts keep being granted platforms to speak?

Repeatedly doing Andy Kaufman’s schtick, but with none of the innocence, and badly.

Of course, he kept going once he started:

…one thing is pretty clear to me. All this hate and violence is being facilitated by a handful of internet companies that amount to the greatest propaganda machine in history. Think about it. Facebook, YouTube, and Google, Twitter and others — they reach billions of people. The algorithms these platforms depend on deliberately amplify the type of content that keeps users engaged — stories that appeal to our baser instincts and that trigger outrage and fear,” Baron Cohen said, adding that “it’s time for a fundamental rethink of social media and how it spreads hate, conspiracies, and lies.

Yeah.

The world of information and messaging was a lot better when three television channels, a handful of newspapers and magazines, and a few “news” cable outlets controlled what 300 million people in one country thought.

This is the problem with the Sacha Baron Cohens of the world: They have a lot in common with the old, school, “robber baron,” capitalist, industrialists—who have just been replaced by the technologists they decry—who believed that “competition is evil.”

Oh, and by the way: The reason they hate the Zuck is because the Bad Orange Man has a better ground game, and more money to execute it with, in 2020 than good ol’ Joltin’ Joe Biden or any of those other also-rans in that clown car called the Democratic Party.

Because He’s Got the “Right” Opinions, He Deserves a Platform

The problem with people—actors really—like Sacha Baron Cohen is that, even though they’re genuinely not funny, they seem to have an audience who laps up their garbage “humor.”

They are responsible for building products and services that people like and that are useful to them.

And do they know the business models that are in the world that allowed that to happen?

No, they don’t because they’re activists and ignoramuses, not economic thinkers.

It was the Internet and the business models built atop it—like the ones of the “Sinister Six” Cohen went off on—that allowed them space and bandwidth to even be seen as a “talent.”

He wrapped up, as you would think he would:

“Instead of letting the Silicon Six decide the fate of the world, let our elected representatives, voted for by the people, of every democracy in the world, have at least some say. It’s time to finally call these companies what they really are — the largest publishers in history. And here’s an idea for them: abide by basic standards and practices just like newspapers, magazines ,and TV news do every day. We have standards and practices in television and the movies; there are certain things we cannot say or do.

Yeah, and the second you do that, Sacha, you open up the lawsuit for defamation door, and the enterprising lawyers will walk right in.

Plus, you don’t protect democracy by censoring people. That leads to totalitarianism.

Nope. Let there be more voices, not less, and get off of the “Sinister Six” and move onto to what actually matters.

Leaving your house and talking to real people.
