It Will Chart The Rise Of The Guadalajara Cartel In The 1980s

After three years telling stories of the battle between cartels and the DEA in Colombia, the Netflix original series Narcos is switching the narrative for its fourth season. Season 4 has been titled Narcos: Mexico.

Cast additions Michael Peña and Diego Luna will head up Narcos: Mexico. Episodes will chart the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s, with Luna (Rogue One) playing Félix Gallardo and Peña (Crash) playing the DEA agent chasing him.

The official synopsis reads:

Narcos: Mexico will explore the origins of the modern drug war by going back to its roots”.

Earlier this year, a location scout for Narcos – Carlos Muñoz Porta – was shot dead near San Bartolo Actopan, an area said to have some of Mexico’s highest murder rates.

Narcos: Mexico premieres on Netflix globally on 16 November.
