Do We Really Need To Play Again?
Surely I wasn’t alone when thinking the Saw franchise had wrapped up with 2010’s Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, then in 2017 Lionsgate Films dropped Jigsaw which grossed $38 million in the United States box office.
Well, there could be another one!
Villain John Kramer, played by Tobin Bell (though he died in the third film of the franchise), was allowed to live on through the various sequels.
In Jigsaw, we saw Kramer craft his first “game”, setting off what would be one of the most murderous rampages in the horror movie world.
Tobin tells Screen Rant:
If they were to continue I’m always interested. Actors act. That’s what we do. And I’m always interested in expanding a character and filling him in if there’s more story to be told. And when the writing is good and makes people think, and is surprising and intricate and something new. So yes, I’m interested in participating in that. And are there aspects of John that I would like to sing about? Yeah, there are. I don’t know that we have truly talked about the origins of Billy. And that’s as much as I’ll say about that.
Billy, of course, is the puppet that appears in the Saw franchise, created by Kramer for his unborn child. So is anyone else ready to play a game (for the 9th time)?
