The title for the Avengers 4 movie may have been spilled by Zoe Saldana. The two films will not be filmed simultaneously , and James Gunn has more or less confirmed that the most important character of the Infinity series will NOT be featured in the film. That character being the focal point of the comicbooks Adam Warlock.

First things first.

In a video posted on Twitter by BBC reporter Lizo Mzimba, Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldana had this interesting quote:

“We’re in the middle of it. I think the Guardians just shot their part when it comes to Infinity Wars, the first part, and we all have to go back for Gauntlet later this year.”

So, the fourth film might then very well be titled Infinity Gauntlet? A little strange seeing as in the Marvel books The Infinity Gauntlet precedes The Infinity War. I’ve written earlier that I believed that Infinity War would draw from both books, and possibly even include elements of Secret Wars, like Battle World and so on. Now Im not so sure. It would now seem more plausible that Infinity War will incorporate the Thanos Quest storyline which preceded the Infinity Gauntlet book. This where Thanos in secret gathers the six infinity stones. I say in secret because in the books he is the only one who knows what the stones are and how they can be used. In the MCU however this is common knowledge. Sad but true.

James Brolin stars as Thanos in Infinity Wars and Gauntlet

Then there are the comments from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. He says that the films aren’t being shot at the same time, with Avengers : Infinity Gauntlet only beginning after Infinity War had wrapped.

But perhaps the most crushing news to come out recently was the news from James Gunn regarding Adam Warlock. It now looks like my worst fear is becoming a reality. According to Gunn, Warlock is not only excluded from Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2 , but he will not even be featured in the Infinity War story either.

I’ve written before that such an omission would be a horrible mistake, and now it seems that Marvel Studios are indeed making that very mistake. Gunn went on about there being too many characters in GotG vol 2 , and he therefore had to cut Warlock out.

That statement reeks of BS however, because when you find room for Mantis,Ego, Yondu, a Miley Cyrus cameo, and an entire race of golden skinned people led by Ayesha (The Her to Adam Warlock’s Him ) then the notion that there wasn’t room for arguably the most important character in the Infinity saga seems pretty weak. Infinity War/Gauntlet is said to include 70+ marvel characters but no room for HIM !?!?!?!

Adam Warlock With The Infinite Gauntlet

Gunn went on to say that Adam Warlock would be included in Guardians vol 3 , but really, why bother ? It’s like trying to introduce Mr Sinister and Cable after killing off Apokalypse. The characters have lost 50% of their relevance and backstory. Foxed up way of going about it basically.

The only string I’m left hanging on to is that Gunn said Warlock wouldn’t be in Infinity War which is Avengers part 3. That leaves a shred of hope that he might still make an appearance in Infinity Gauntlet. But its a slim chance at best.

The only gem which has yet to be revealed is Adam Warlock’s Soul Gem. This gem has to be found before the fourth film ( Infinity Gauntlet ) , and all things point to Marvel rewriting Adam Warlock’s involvement in the saga.

All the latest trailers point to Wakanda as the place where the last gem is to be found. And seriously, if that’s the case, then i’d rather prefer that James Gunn does not include Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3. Because what the hell would be the point of that?
