We’ve got an update from Karl Urban if we’ll ever get another Judge Dredd movie.

During a question and answer session at the C2E2 event in Chicago the other day he said…

“I would love to make it, I’m on the record saying that a bunch of times. I don’t know if that’s gonna happen. I think that the guys that own the rights to Dredd, Rebellion, I think they’re developing something called Mega-City One.”

So it sounds like another Judge Dredd movie with Urban probably won’t happen. But he does think that at some point the franchise will go on with or without him.

“Whether it’s with me or not, it doesn’t matter. I’m a fan of Dredd and there’s so many great stories there. I’d love to see them. And I have no doubt that, someday, someone will make it. It’s just a matter of time.”

Even though the Dredd reboot with Urban in 2012 was pretty well received by fans because they finally got what they wanted to see, the biggest problem is that it just didn’t make any money despite being a low budget feature.

The Mega-City One that he mentions is a TV show which would take place in the Dredd universe and which Urban has mentioned he would be willing to be a part of.

However, there has been very little news on the show since they announced the development of it three years ago, so it appears the chances of seeing the show are as good as seeing a new film.
