It Averaged Just Under $12.75 At Each Cinema

Kevin Spacey’s new film, the Vertico Entertainment produced Billionaire Boys Club tanked on its opening day in the United States, reportedly taking just $618 in total.

The movie’s top gross on Friday — $45 — was earned at the Metro Movies 12 in Middletown, Connecticut, followed by the AMC Sundial in Sarasota with $19. Only $9 was generated at the AMC Deer Valley 16 in Antioch, California. That could mean only one person showed up at the Deer Valley cinema; ditto for the Lakeville 21 in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, where the film earned $10 on Friday. These figures are no joke.

By comparison, Spacey’s film Baby Driver took more than $20million (£15.7million) in its opening weekend back in June 2017.

Last year, filming ceased and Spacey was fired from Netflix hit House Of Cards after allegations of sexual deviancy came to light. The actor has denied all allegations. Filming later resumed on the political series with Robin Wright taking centre stage for Claire Underwood’s term in office. This series will end after its next run.

Vertical Entertainment has had a rough summer. The studio released John Travolta’s mob biopic Gotti earlier this year, which picked up a dismal $4 million during its run and some brutal reviews. It holds a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Suffer.
