Big Precog Energy

Film Goblin’s official position has always been that this whole “Sony Takes Spider-Man From Marvel” story was a forced meme being used as a negotiating tactic by Sony.

Once again, Film Goblin has been proven correct.

The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that The Webslinger is back in the MCU for at least two movies, one of which will be a standalone Spider-Man film.

Directly from The Smarter Man Alive:

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it.”

The Hollywood Reporter article reads very oddly as the headline states “one more movie” and with sub-headline saying “two more films”:

What Does This Mean?

It’s pretty obvious: one of these movies is going to be in the Sony Spiderverse.

Just ask Kevin:

“He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

That’s pretty much a confirmation.

Perhaps this is what the negotiations were about the entire time: keeping Spider-Man in the MCU at the same time they have him in the Sony universe?

The next Spider-Man movie is being released July 16, 2021.

Will it be in the Spiderverse — excuse me, “Spidey-Verse” — or the MCU?

More importantly, would you like to know tomorrow’s lottery numbers?
